Mikel wants repeat performance against Germany

Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel has said he hopes they can repeat their quarterfinal form which saw them beat Denmark 2-0 when they face Germany in the semifinal.
The 29-year old scored one and created the other as the Dream Team went past their Danish counterparts to set a semifinal date with Germany and reacting to the outcome, Mikel couldn’t hide his excitement as he says they are happy to be in the semifinals.
“I’m happy for the team, we did what we had to do. We did what the coach asked. We are very happy to be in the semifinals,” Mikel said during post-match press conference.
And ahead of the semifinal game, the Chelsea midfielder added that the expectation is to win and get to the final as he hopes they repeat their performance against Denmark when they meet Germany.
“My goal and the coach is the same. We have a group of players thinking the same way.
“I hope the semifinal is equal to today, we can reach the final in order to win the gold medal.”
