Yaya Toure is on the decline but his Man City career deserves respect

There can be no doubt that Yaya Toure is one of Manchester City ’s most important signings of the Mansour era.

Bought for £24 million in 2010, many felt City had vastly overpaid for the unwanted Barcelona man.
But he soon showed people what he was capable of, developing into one of the best midfielders in the game and proving time and again to be the difference between City and their rivals.
At his best, no one could touch him, and he had a knack of delivering important goals on the big occasions.

Winners in the 2011 FA Cup semi-final and final ended City's 35-year wait for a trophy - and a double away at Newcastle the following season put City on the brink of their first title in 44 years.
Then there was the mind-bending goal against Sunderland in the League Cup final in 2014 and 20 league goals as City won their second title in three seasons. These are vital moments in this club’s history.

During his 2010-2014 pomp, he could dominate midfield battles singlehandedly. His passing was the best around - and his pace and power meant few could get near him if he decided to drive forward.
His goal against Aston Villa as City closed in on the title in 2014 perhaps sums him up best. He set off from inside his own half, leaving a trail of Villa defenders behind him, before smacking the ball high into the net. Untouchable.

City wanted Toure to help them become winners - and he delivered emphatically on that brief. Garry Cook, instrumental in bringing him to City, says his signing was the one that made it easier to go out and sign other big-names. With Yaya there, others gladly followed.

But now, at 33, the Ivorian’s star is very much on the decline. He’s been left out of City’s Champions League squad for the group stage and is unlikely to feature much in the Premier League, either. Age catches up with us all eventually.

It's an understandable decision from Pep Guardiola. He has certain demands of his squad that he will not deviate from. One of them is the need to show desire and intensity to win the ball back if possession is lost.

Bastian Schweinsteiger has been omitted from Manchester United's Europa League squad because Jose Mourinho did not have room to include him.

The midfielder was left off the list submitted to UEFA and will not be eligible for games against Fenerbahce, Feyenoord and Zorya Luhansk in the group stages.

While they may be a bit of an eyesore, runaway truck ramps are extremely important in limiting the damage caused by out-of-control trucks.

Found around the world, the gravel filled ramps are most commonly found on the sides of motorways and near corners which can catch truckers off guard.

Captured on a CCTV camera, a big rig can be seen  approaching a right hand bend far too hot. Unable to shed enough speed by braking around the turn, the driver makes the split-second decision to veer off into the runaway truck ramp.

As the truck hits the gravel, it is slowed down almost immediately and begins to fishtail before smashing into the concrete wall adjacent to the ramp. Remarkably, the truck didn't roll and the driver doesn't appear to have been injured.

Now if there wasn't such a ramp at this corner, a trail of devastation could have been left if the truck were to crash and roll on the busy motorway, putting the lives of dozens of other motorists at risk.

 Usain Bolt is in London where he has been pictured hanging out with Liverpool striker, 

Daniel Sturridge.

While hanging out with Sturridge, it seems Bolt was given a piece from the clothing
line of the Liverpool striker.

In a photo shared on Instagram, Bolt can be seen with a hat from Sturridge’s Dstudgehats 
line.

The Liverpool striker has been promoting his hat line with his teammates and friends 
wearing the caps and posting the photos on their social media pages.

While Bolt continued with his legendary medal haul in the Olympics, Sturridge is having 
difficulties getting into Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side.

Nigerian Man who wanted to meet all his 5K FB followers, gets replies from Mark Zuckerbeberg, as he plans to meet him in Lagos

 

Back in May, LIB reported  about an Abuja based man, Gaius Chibueze, who said he wants to make history by being the first (and probably the only) person in the world to meet all his 5000 Facebook followers one-on-one (read here). Gauis then claimed he was determined to achieve this feat and had a roaster for the dates his followers can meet him in different states.

After news broke that Mark Zuckerberg had arrived in Lagos yesterday, Gaius shared a screenshot of a supposed chat he had via Facebook with him, where he requested for a one-one-one meet.
Although the billionaire Facebook founder didn't agree at first due to his busy schedule, he eventually gave a slight nod of approval when Gaius promised to get 100,000k shares to raise awareness on the social media site.

However, Gaius hopped on a night bus and should have arrived Lagos by now. The 100k shares hasn't also been achieved yet.

Reviews Tesla Gets Extension After Missing NHTSA Deadline For Autopilot Death Investigation

Tesla has been granted a one week extension by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after missing a deadline for an information request relating to the Model S Autopilot death.

Joshua Brown died when his Model S crashed into a trailer truck after the Autopilot system failed to notice the white colored truck against the brightly-lit sky.

On July 8, the NHTSA sent an information request to Tesla to provide details about the company's alleged defects of the self-driving system's Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Braking systems.

Business Insider reports Tesla was given until August 26 to submit this information but failed to do so. It now has until September 2 to complete the request.

Missing deadlines is nothing new for the electric automaker. In fact, it's become rather notorious for it having delayed the launches of numerous models/variants in recent years.

Man City goalkeeper Hart completes his move to Torino

Man City transfer deadline news: The England keeper will make his Serie A debut a week on Sunday at Atalanta after tying up the deal.

Joe Hart has completed a season's loan to Torino and is travelling back to join up with the England squad again.

The out-of-favour Manchester City keeper flew out to Turin yesterday for a medical and to complete the deal, after being given special permission by the FA to leave England's training camp.

The deal is expected to see City continue to pay a large slice of his wages.

Hart was replaced in the City team by Willy Caballero in a shock move by manager Pep Guardiola at the start of the season, the new boss making it plain he wanted a keeper with better footwork.

And last week Guardiola moved for a more permanent replacement by picking up Claudio Bravo from Barcelona for £13.75million.

Bravo is lined up for his City debut in the Manchester derby a week on Saturday, while Hart is expected to make his Torino debut the following day at Atalanta.
