Fans in Akwa Ibom and those travelling there to watch the Super
Eagles play Tanzania in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier will admitted
freely into the Stadium after the gates were thrown open.
There will be no ticket sales for the game, as the Akwa Ibom State
government has decided to pay for the tickets and the fans will now
watch the game free of charge.
It will not be the first time such is happening as it is now becoming
a recurring theme for gates to be thrown open free of charge whenever
the Super Eagles play at home.
It was the same thing at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna in March,
when Nigeria hosted Egypt in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Meanwhile, the game today against the Tanzanians is of no importance
as both sides have failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria are however using the game to prepare for the World Cup
qualifiers which begins next month with an away fixture against the
Chipolopolo of Zambia.
They will then host Algeria the following month, before playing Cameroon in August of 2017.
